Originally used for timber haulage and threshing, Burrell Works Engine No 3711 was built and purchased in 1916 by S D Melhuish of Chard in Someset. In 1922 No 3711 was purchased by Mr Thomas Whitelegg and converted to a full showmans specification. No 3711 was used with Whitelegg’s Gallopers until 1936 and was then used on his new ride ‘The Loch Ness Monster’.
